Hello darlings!

I’ve talked in the past about how proud I am for my Italian roots so when I was contacted by my favorite Italian bloggers Chiara and Ilaria from Caseperlatesta about this project I jumped on it!

I am super happy to be part of an awesome group of Italian and Greek bloggers that teamed up to bring you an e-book filled with tutorials to make your own Christmas greeting cards.
Each of us has prepared a Christmas greeting card that you can make and give this holiday season. You can download the ebook for free HERE.

As proud I am to have Italian roots, for this project I decided to honor my Greek heritage and make a card with the traditional boat. You see in Greece traditionally people used to decorate a boat instead of a tree. I think it had to do with our maritime excellence and the fact that this country is made up of 6000 islands.

So I made a mix media card with a crochet boat.

Supplies

A small amount of white yarn

A 4.50mm crochet hook

Yarn needle
Yarn scissors

How to make the card

Take your crochet triangle and fold it to form the paper boat shape. Add a dab of hot glue to help it keep its shape.

Now take your cardboard paper and fold it in half to form the card.

With your hot glue, glue the boat in the middle of the card. Make sure to only glue the back, the front of the boat should be free kind of like a pocket.

With your white marker draw some waves under the boat.

Now with your gold marker draw two lines from the bow to the sail and from the stern to the sail. On that line using your pink gold marker, draw small rounds like lights. Use your white marker to make the light diffusion.

Draw a flag in gold color on top of the sail.

Write your wishes in the inside of the card with your gold or white marker! Your card is done!
