Hello darlings!

I've mentioned many times in the past that I love how the internet can bring us closer. And yes I know all about all the ways that it can drift us apart too, but that's true only if you let it.

I must admit that most of my time on the internet is spend on crochet groups and pages. That didn't really surprise you did it? I've met many people there and I've become close to a few.

One of my most recent web friends, Elizabeth of PotatoCrochet is a remarkable and very talented lady in more ways than one. If you'd asked her to describe herself in a few words she'd say:

"Just a woman trying to understand the world around me. Mother and avid reader/crocheter/cook. "

I am very lucky she agreed to write a few of her thoughts for my readers and I think you are going to love what she wrote. I know I did and it moved me so much!!! Enjoy!

It's been quite a while since I've written anything to be honest, so I apologize in advance if I seem a little rusty. So I'll keep it short.

I have been thinking about all the things I would like to talk about, there are so many important concepts that I feel, we as society, are scarcely grasping upon. Then I remembered how obnoxious it is to have someone tell you what to think, what to believe or how to react. All I can do is give you a message, and hope you take it to heart.

The beautiful thing about being alive is freedom. You are free to choose. You are free to stop reading right now.

When people try to shove down their beliefs through someone else's throat, it's not only disrespectful, it's downright offensive because you are telling them that whatever you believe on is more important and ''true'' than their opinion. What happened to listening, actually listening to what someone had to say, even if you disagreed with them? Just so that you can open your mind a little bit and maybe learn something you didn't know.

Which brings me to another beautiful thing about being alive, our capacity to obtain knowledge so easily, we live in the era of information! A life changing concept is just a click away. It is mind blowing the amount of things you can learn if you are just willing to. Sadly, that is not something a lot of people take advantage of because is just not who they are.

Finally, the most important reason (to me) life is beautiful: Is that we all are here, to experience, to enrich our souls and spirits, we can touch, we can smell, we can see, we can hear. We can love. Human beings are capable of the most horrible things, but we are also capable of the very best, the most noble, the most caring. Perhaps, without the lows the highs cannot be reached.

Incidentally, that's my next reason why is so beautiful to be alive. We have the capacity to change. To go through the worst, and come out victorious, to change a horrible habit, to adapt to our surroundings, to our situation in life. Human life adapts. Change is not always bad. And even when it is not what you wanted, you still decide how to react to it. It is up to you. Life is a beautiful thing regardless of what you believe in. Do not waste it, do not pass on an opportunity to be kind to someone just because you get nothing out of it.

Pay it forward, live. No one else can be you.

I am so glad Elizabeth honored me with her writing. We have connected through our love for crochet, books and our daughters but there are also a million other little things that make me feel close to her. Do pay a visit to her facebook page PotatoCrochet and take a look in the wonderful pieces of art she creates with her hook and yarn! I like everything she makes but these roses are a favorite of mine for sure. What's yours?

Lot's of love
