A flower is always the best gift! Oh and brooches are back!

Hello sweeties!

He had a marvelous time yesterday with my love! He brought home some amazing flowers for my birthday.

He went to the florist who organized our wedding decorations. We really like this guy! They put together this amazing bouquet of tulips.

Aren't they amazing?

Later on we went to TGIF Fridays for dinner and we ate A LOT! While we were there, I couldn't help but notice all the colorful pins and brooches the service girls and guys were wearing in the suspenders. I mean, I've seen them before but now I was looking at them from another perspective.

Did you know brooches are back into fashion? Well they are! They are making a huge come back as it seems so be on the watch for a new and rather easy to wear accessory!

I am always wearing mine with some of my cardigans

and here some of my favorites from etsy:

A truly excuisite work of art from Beadworkandcoe on etsy. This is a remarkable example of beadwork craftsmanship at its best!!!

Then, I really enjoy the happy illustrations of Dapni from lacravatteduchien, and since I consider myself a black sheep here's my fav:

And for the flower lovers (myself included) I would definitely propose the work of my talented friend Gia from Fairytaleflower on etsy. She makes amazing pieces with gorgeous textiles!

  2. Happy Birthday! Sounds like a lovely celebration and those tulips are divine...lucky girl. Brooches you ask? Where don't I put them would be easier to answer...on my winter hats for a bit of color. Right now I'm using felted wool flower pins that will withstand the sleet and snow. On my coat too...but not if I've got one on my hat because it seems like too much. I pin one of my grandma's sparkly rhinestone pins on my black evening bag now and then for some sparkle, but I added a creamy silk rose brooch to another tan bag with some pale green ribbon and always get comments on it. I've been known to dress up a string of pearls with a pin too, oh and belts -- plain skinny belts almost always get funked up with a vintage pin. Can you tell I'm into brooches? LOL. Brooches are totally in -- I love your little leather bow.
