When I was 8 or 9 years old, as old as my daughter is now, my mom took me by the hand and we marched in the center of Athens in an anti-war protest. I never stopped protesting against war and I never will. I am sick with despair when I think of what has become of Gaza. Innocent women and children are targeted and it's wrong! I've decided to help the only way I know. Through my craft and skills. I call on you to make as many crochet watermelon slices you can and put them on your keys, on your bags, on your social media in solidarity with these long suffering people. Read below for my new No sew watermelon amigurumi pattern.

This free crochet pattern is to support the Palestinian people. Please consider making it, donating to the gofundmes of the suffering people or ask me for a ready-made keychain the proceeds of which I donate to them.

don't cut the yarn!

Using your yarn needle and black yarn place some stitches on the watermelon slice to resemble the seeds. Cut and secure yarn with some knots.

Get back to your green yarn and hook , fold the circle in half and close the watermelon slice with single crochets that go through both stitches in each side at the same time, stuffing as you go. Cut yarn leaving a long tail to help you attach the keyring.

Use that tail and a needle to attach the keyring in place. Cut and secure yarn.
