I've learnt how to knit and crochet when I was seven years old. My mom and her mom and aunt taught me during the long summers in Crete (the best time of my life). I've been knitting and crocheting professionally for the last 16 years and as you can imagine, I've acquired quite a lot of knitting needles and crochet hooks. And don't get me started on how much yarn I have in my stash! It's a constant battle - albeit one that brings joy - to keep everything organized. That's why the first time I saw Thread & Maple knitting organisers online, I fell in love. I knew they would help me keep my precious tools in line! Good storage makes a difference, especially when it is designed around the way I actually use my craft tools.

Thread & Maple knitting organizers
Since I first created this blog, I have been blessed to have been part of various collaborations with craft related brands and I am the proud owner of a large collection of knitting needles, much of them you've already seen here. Like my all-time favorite mindful collection by KnitPro and my Cypra knitting needles from Lykke.

Most of my knitting needles are interchangeable circular ones that come in their own case. Despite the fact that I have multiple projects going on at the same time (many wips as we say), I rarely use just one set of needles. For example, if I am making lace I go for my mindful collection 2.5mm or 3.0mm. If I am knitting a beanie I reach for my ginger ones and if I am mindlessly knitting stockinette for a project my Cypras are on my hands. So, what happens when I want to go to my mom's house for the weekend with my kids? I end up carrying a bunch of cases with needles I don't really need. And that's the first great thing about Thread and Maple's organizers. I can mix and match whatever needles I need with me with their case.
I got the Thread & Maple Interchangeables Page for Knitter’s Pride Needles but I don't use it just for the KnitPro needles. I use it to store whatever needles I need for all the wips I am working on at a given time. For example, right now I am knitting a wholesale order for a Greek island high end store and I am making scarves, pashmina's and lace mittens. So my leather page looks like this.

Now let me tell you a little bit about this page's quality and features. The page is made from high quality leather that feels amazing to the touch. The finish is so smooth and the craftsmanship top notch! The page features needle slots on leather tabs, with elastic loops to hold the interchangeable tips securely. The sizes are marked in both millimeters and US sizing, making it easier to identify the pair you need. The sizes are clearly marked and there are velcro attachments that allow you to rearrange or replace the leather tabs. The page folds in half and fastens with rotating snaps, making it convenient to carry as a standalone case. When opened flat, it can be inserted into Thread & Maple's full-size Needle Binder to keep your needle collection together. The open dimensions are approximately 27 × 18 cm (10¾ × 8 inches), while the closed case measures approximately 13.5 × 18 cm (5¼ × 8 inches).

The second best thing about their organization binder is that it can grow with you. When you get more tools, you add more pages and you are always organized. Personally, later on, I will get their Needle Binder and a couple more of their leather pages to add more needles to! I love how personalized this system gets and allows you to get your money's worth by truly creating it to meet your needs.

You have also seen me talk about how much I love my Furls Odyssey crochet hooks - and how much I miss being able to buy them in Europe, ugh. I’ve never found a case for them; I usually put the ones I use in the pencil case I carry with me with all my notions. That’s a bit risky let me tell you because they have the tendency to break which is the exact same as my heart breaking (ok I am a little bit exaggerating but you get the picture). So, when the amazing people of Thread and Maple send me the Thread & Maple Telescopic Tool Case I was thrilled!

At first glance, it looks like a compact zippered case. Open it, however, and its telescopic design transforms it into a freestanding cup. The outer shell slides down, allowing the tools inside to become visible and easy to reach. When it is time to pack up, the shell slides back into place and zips closed for carrying.
I love the idea of having a case that works in two ways: compact and closed when travelling, open and accessible when working at my desk. And most of all? Sturdy and safe for my precious crochet hooks!

There are four slim interior pockets to keep your hooks apart or store your pens and scissors and keep them organized. Bonus points on fitting in my car’s cup holder (I see you sports’ moms).

Thread & Maple knitting organizers
All in all, my honest opinion about this brand is that their have high end quality organizers that can help any crafter save their favorite tools from being scattered between project bags, drawers, and the corners of their craft rooms. Both cases combine practical storage with beautiful leather craftsmanship, making them interesting options for makers who want their tools to be organized without sacrificing style.
I especially love the fact that Thread & Maple are Canadian and women owned and they are makers themselves. Only a maker can truly understand and address the needs of another maker and only a woman can truly get that everyone is different and offer such an amazing tailored to need organization system.
