It can be hard to enjoy time in your garden if it is all a little messy and disorganized. Summer is the perfect time to take a look at your garden and outside space, though. No doubt you are spending more time outdoors, so you have more opportunity to sort it out. You could start by doing some weeding of the flower beds and the lawn area. Everything just grows quickly in summer, so you want to be able to stay on top of it all. Getting a good weed killer is a must. Then it will prevent it from growing back. If you have any fruit or vegetable patches, then it is a good idea to not spray on those areas. It will keep your produce organic, and you won’t need to worry about ingesting any of the spray. So you will need to go through those areas by hand and pull any weeds. It can feel a little tedious to do, but it is worth it.

If you have children, then it might be a good idea to have a clear and sort of the garden toys. Children or not, the garden funiture, might need a bit of tender loving care. Perhaps any seat cushions could do with a wash? Getting a pressure washer is a good idea to keep your garden clean and organised too. It lifts up moss and mold and can make patio areas look like new. If you don’t already have a pressure washer, consider buying one as you will get a lot of use from it. You will have to think about where to keep it, though. If you have a garden shed or outbuilding, then it might need a bit of organization too.

If you need to sort through your garden shed, start looking at what you no longer use. There may be some things that you could sell or giveaway. Some things might be in such a bad condition that they just need to be thrown away. Then it can become like a big game of Tetris. You will need to move and rearrange where everything goes. Something like a snow blower, like the ones from Snow Shifts, might need to be stored at the back of the shed. It isn’t something that gets used that often and it takes up quite a lot of space. So start with items like that and work your way to fitting in the smaller items. Getting some hooks is a good idea too. You could hang a hose, tools or garden equipment up on those. If it saves some floor space, then it is all good. Some shelving could be a good idea in a shed too. If things are easy to reach, then it means things will get much more use.

Have fun in your garden this summer and organize it where you can. It will make things much easier to use, so you’ll be able to get the most out of your garden.
